It was a case of second time not so lucky for FC Clacton on Tuesday evening, as they exited the BBC Essex Senior Cup following a 2-1 defeat at Stanway Rovers.
Marley Andrews and Jack Baker were on target for the hosts, who move on to a Second Round tie at home to West Essex next week. Jake Clowsley scored an injury-time penalty for the Seasiders, who will now concentrate on league action beginning at Hadleigh United on Friday evening.
That game is a 7:45pm kick-off at Millfield and we look forward to seeing our regular, fantastic away support at the match!
Details of the draw for the First Round Proper of this season's Buildbase FA Vase were released on Monday lunchtime, with the Seasiders handed a tricky looking tie at Hellenic League side Risborough Rangers.
Tom and the boys will make the long trip to Buckinghamshire on Saturday, 12th October to face a Rangers side who currently sit top of the Hellenic League Division One East (Step 6) with six wins and a draw from their seven matches played.
The team play their home matches at The B.E.P. Stadium, Princes Risborough.

This of course means that our Thurlow Nunn Premier Division trip to Newmarket Town, which had been due to take place on 12th October, has had to be postponed. A new date for that fixture will be announced in due course.
FC Clacton booked their place in the First Round proper of the Buildbase FA Vase after defeating Redbridge 4-1 at The Austin Arena this afternoon.
Callum Griffith, Jake Clowsley, Jordan Lartey and Harry McDonald were on target for the Seasiders, who now await Monday's draw to see who will be up next as the Road to Wembley continues!
It was also a great day for the Reserves, who were 4-0 winners at Little Oakley A for their fourth straight victory! Terrence Kangandu, Duaine Nwadikwa and Sam Thompson (2) were on target for Lionel Toms' men. Next up for the Reserves is next Saturday's visit of Boxted Lodgers.
The Vets opened their season with a 1-1 draw against Boxted Lodgers Vets, Denny Saggers their goalscorer.
The First Team now switch their attention to Tuesday's BBC Essex Senior Cup tie at Stanway Rovers, before returning to Thurlow Nunn League action at Hadleigh United on Friday evening.
FC Clacton are delighted to announce that Austin Heating & Electrical Services are to sponsor our ground for the coming season, which will now be known as the Austin Arena.
This is an opportunity many local Clubs have seized upon in recent years & something we have been considering for a while.
So we were very pleased when Austin Heating agreed & it is exactly the reputable, local company that we want to work with.
There is already a relationship with the club, being the family business of Tom Austin, our First team manager, & we will look to build upon this over the coming season & hopefully beyond.
Speaking on behalf of the Club, Stephen Andrews said “A huge welcome & thank you to Austin Heating, we can’t wait for the League to commence & to welcome everyone to the Austin Arena - starting at 3pm this Saturday at home in our opening match against Stowmarket!”
On behalf of Austin Heating & Electrical Services, Steve Austin said “We are absolutely delighted to be able to support our local Club with this sponsorship. Clacton had a great season last year & we look forward to building on that in the coming months & welcoming everyone to the Austin Arena!”
Our gates open for the first time as the Austin Arena on Saturday 3rd August, when Clacton entertain Stowmarket in the opening game of the 2019/20 season. Kick off 3pm. Please join us!
