FC Clacton U9's vs Clacton United

Sunday 13th November 2011 - Rush Green Bowl - 10.30am

Ready for another fixture from our Eastern League, we assembled at our home ground for a match against locals Clacton United.  We were as keen as ever to maintain our unbeaten status, and gun for the number one spot in the league.

Before the game, both FC Clacton and Clacton United lined up, and observed a 1 minute silence in honour of Rememberance Sunday - with every player behaving like professionals.  Well done everyone.

So, on a lovely warm (for November) morning we lined up for the game.

Off the whistle blew, and we were straight into the action, pressing United and winning a very early throw in, which Ryan Csaforda took to land the ball into the box.  Reuben Cowler chased the ball across the goal mouth, and cooly slid the ball past their keeper to put us 1-0 up!  All this just 55 seconds into the match.

Four minutes in, and United win the ball from midfield, and one of their players let one rip, but Harrison Walsham our keeper makes a great save!  It goes out for a corner, and curls toward the net and to the head of Ryan Csaforda who neatly headers the ball for a great clearance.  We continue to push hard against our opposition, with most of the play in the United half, with some great, but just off target chances coming to our lads, which was slightly frustrating.  None more so when Harrison Lewis goes one on one with the keeper, shaving the post with a great attempt.

At 13 and half minutes the frustration was over, when Leon Dutton wins an important ball in midfield, passes cleanly to Ryan Csaforda who turns quickly and pushes a direct ball to the box, where Reuben Cowler collects and fires the ball past the keeper with style - this puts us 2-0 up!  Not a minute later, Harrison Lewis jumps on a ball on the right hand wing, and crosses the ball in, only to deflect off a United player, but as quick a lightening he is back in the box, takes on three United players and squares the ball past the keeper for a great goal.  This put the home side up 3-0!

United show off some good defensive moves as we press them hard, and manage to keep us away from their goal until the half time whistle.

Off we went for the second half after drinks and team talk - and we win an early corner, which Reuben Cowler fires into the box, and is neatly collected by Jake Mayes who effortlessly beats the keeper, putting us 4-0 up! It didn't take long for us to drive forward again, at at 26 minutes Ryan Csaforda cracks a fantastic long pass off, landing at Jake Mayes who effortlessly in a single shot, hits the back of the net.  FC Clacton U9's are starting to go into cruise mode now!

In the dying moments of the match, we win a thrown in that lands at the feet of Jake Mayes who makes a fantastic run down the wing, and it's clear he is hungry for a hat-trick, but instead the closing angle forces a cross which Patrick Graham cooly intercepts in the box, and beats the keeper with ease, and putting is in a commanding 6-0 lead, and only 30 seconds later the whilstle calls the match to a close.

Thanks go out to Clacton United for visiting us and being great opponents and putting up some strong defending.

Well done the lads of FC Clacton Under 9's - we remain UNBEATEN again and we are gunning for No 1 spot in the league!
