Perfect Per-"Four"-Mance!

FC Clacton U9's vs Wivenhoe Town - Sunday 11.30am

After a week's break, FC Clacton U9's were back at their home patch for what was billed as a really tough match against Wivenhoe Town FC.  With almost perfect conditions, nice blue skies and the warm sun, we all looked forward to the match ahead.

11.30am, and the whistle blew, and from the off we looked like we were going to be the stronger team.  FC Clacton U9's passed the ball confidently between each other, and quickly opened up a number of chances, pushing deep into the Wivenhoe half.  Chance after chance came, but to the credit of the opposition, the Wivenhoe goalkeeper made some cracking saves and once again The Seasiders could not get the ball over the line.  That didn't last for too long, when mid-fielder Mitchell made a decisive strike and put us ahead in the first half 1-0!  More pressing play from our lads, and it seemed the ball never came into our half, but no more attempts came to fruition!

After a brief break for drinks and oranges, out we ran again ready for the off, and that came a couple of minutes later.  FC Clacton U9's didn't really give any quarter to Wivenhoe and they pilled on the pressure, putting together some fanastic free-flowing and passing football.  New signing Patrick managed to get into a great position and fired the ball past their keeper, putting us up 2-0 and scoring his first goal for FCC - well done Patrick!

Despite Wivenhoe trying to fight back, there was a sense that our lads had broken their spirit, and the continued pressure yielded further goals from striker Ryan and mid-fielder Mitchell to put as 4-0 at the final whistle.  Defender Jake gets a special mention for a blistering run from defence and blasting the ball what we all thought was the net, but it was ruled to hit the side netting - better luck next time!

Thanks as always go to our opposition, Wivenhoe Town FC for travelling to our ground and giving us a great match and being great sports.

Well done to every player on the FC Clacton U9's team, once again we have gone out and played passionate and quite brilliant football and have outplayed our opponents.  Everyone gave 110% and you are a credit it our club!

Go Seasiders!
