The Seasiders continued their fine run of wins with a comprehensive win away to Burnham of the Essex Senior League. What was even more impressive was that there were many regulars missing from the FCC starting XI. Tom Austin, Kevin Coyle and Joe Martin were all absent from Saturday's trip to Mildenhall whilst Matt Waters and Kyelan Marvell were still carrying injuries although Marvell took a place on the bench.

Andy Taylor gave 16 year-old Harvey Cowler his full debut whilst offering Aaron Keaney his first start.

The game started with FCC on the attack from the first whistle, with openings being carved out by James Dunkley, Aaron Keaney and the returning Karl Andrade.

The first meaningful attack led to Andrade cutting in from the left and firing straight at the Burnham custodian.

The hosts broke a couple of times without creating anything of note before taking the lead against the run of the play, with the unmarked forward sidefooting home from inside the box.

This seemed to spur the Seasiders on even more, and the equaliser came soon after. Good build-up play between Billy Wales, Sean Hillier and Dunkley allowed Andrade to slide the ball past the keeper to make matterrs even.

A dominant FCC almost took the lead before the break when Andrade beat two players down the left before cutting back to the onrushing Hillier just inside the box, who was denied by the young Ramblers keeper who made a fantastic save onto the underside of the bar. Luckily for him, the ball dropped down into his hands!

HT: 1-1.

A rampant Seasiders came out all guns blazing and it was Andrade who doubled Clacton's lead early in the second half placing nonchalantly past the keeper after an assist from Keaney.

Liam Condon came on for Keaney soon after and it did not take long for Condon junior to make his mark on the game. A deep cross from Dunkley evaded the whole defence and it was 17 year-old Condon who struck the Seasiders' third with the aid of a slight deflection.

Adam Wrycraft then became the second debutant of the evening for FCC when replacing Andrade and slotted in at left-back.

An off-the-ball scuffle led to Wales being booked but chaos ensued with the over-zealous Ramblers bench screaming for a red-card to be shown to a different FCC player.

The hosts were struggling to get into the game and were constantly being harried by the high-tempo FCC side. This led to Wales picking up the ball in the centre of the park before laying off to Hillier, who took a touch and unleashed a 30-yard screamer into the top of the net for the fourth goal.

The icing on the cake came when Lee Peacock fed Hillier whose dink over the top allowed Aaron Condon to bag Clacton's fifth and his fourth in three games for the Seasiders.

So, all in all, a fantastic result and performance for FCC who deservedly progress through to the next round. Full credit to Taylor for giving the youngsters a chance and some of the over-worked regulars a rest. It definitely proved a very fruitful night all-round.

Quick mention to the youngsters Cowler and Keaney who did not look out of place after stepping up; to Liam Condon for netting his first FCC goal to become the youngest ever goalscorer since the name-change and also to Wrycraft for stepping in and adapting to the pace with ease. The rest of the squad put in a quality shift on the night and ensured the excellent winning streak continued.

Fingers crossed number seven comes on Saturday at home to Haverhill...
