By BAZ.

FCC were without Joe Martin who was unavailable going into this match.  We were looking for win number 8 on the bounce against our friends from Great Yarmouth, who in turn are having an indifferent season so far, winning only 1 game against Brantham Athletic and drawing another with Woodbridge.

It was the home team however who made the early running, with the wind behind them, and in the 3rd minute they probably should have been awarded a penalty when Matt Cripps barged into the home centre forward - but the Yarmouth appeals for a penalty were waved aside, by our referee.  This was the first of many odd refereeing and his assistants decisions throughout the match. A total of 6 players were booked, 3 from each team, in a game where there was not a foul of note!! with a game played in good  spirit.

Against the run of play and catching the home rear guard napping, FCC took the lead, a quick throw in by James Dunkley was met by the effervescent Sean Hillier to slide the ball under the advancing keeper. Yarmouth continued to press our goal but we held firm.  In the 11th minute a good move involving Dunks, Hills and Aaron Condon who then beat 2 players only for the home keeper to make a great save to keep the score to 1 - 0.  Yarmouth were still pushing forward in numbers, only for FCC to catch them on the break. A great move again starting with Condon who fed a neat ball through to Hillier he then passed to Matt Waters who from at least 20 yards - with a right footed curler beat the keeper hands down 2 - 0.  Almost immediately Condon was through on goal only to fire over the bar.  In the 15th minute FCC scored our 3rd goal.  Another well crafted move involving Condon, Hillier and this time Captain Kevin Coyle resulting in Coyle scoring with ease 3 - 0.  The game was it appeared over from this point but credit to The Bloaters they did not lay down and had a couple of nice moves.  Fernando Vide was playing some nice touches and in the 22nd minute he went on a mazey run passing 3 then 4 of our players but his team mates were nowhere to be seen for help, so his efforts were in vain. FCC thought that they had scored a 4th goal and according to supporters both for and against us said that the goal was a perfectly good goal and was at least 2 yards onside but the assistant had his flag up to disallow it!!  In the 29th min Yarmouth had another let off when there keeper picked up a back pass on the angle of his 6 yard box.  The free kick was blocked and deflected for a corner. From the corner taken by Coyle, Aaron Condon hit a shot which struck a post and went for a goal kick.  FCC were still catching Gt Yarmouth on the break and Matt Waters almost scored only for the keeper to make a good save again.  Half Time Yarmouth 0  FCC 3

Yarmouth started the second half on the attack but could not break through our resolute defence. In the 48th minute Aaron Condon putting pressure on the Bloaters number 5, caused him to make a mistake and Aaron ran through to capitalise and score our 4th goal.  Within a minute a neat move involving Sean Hillier, Billy Wales and Matt Waters resulting in Waters to calmly slot home goal number 5.  Yarmouth were still not laying down and over the next 10 minutes were stringing a few good moves/passes together and from one of them Mitch Forbes scored with a good header 5 - 1, Joe Playle got a hand to the ball but could not prevent the ball going in.  2 minutes later Kevin Coyle scored again only to be ruled questionably offside yet again, in fact over the duration of the second 45 minutes that assistant flagged 9 times for dubious offsides!!  Karl Andrade scored our 6th goal after replacing Aaron Condon 10mins earlier.  Soon afterwards Matt Waters completed his hat-trick scoring our 7th goal in the 69th minute.  It was now one way traffic - we had 5 clear cut chances on target which were either well blocked or saved brilliantly by Greygoose in the Yarmouth goal. goal number 8 was scored by Kevin Coyle from a free kick from Karl Andrade in the 81st min.  Yarmouth still would not lie down and had a couple of chances which were cleared off the line, then in the 88min a long punt forward saw Mitch Forbes outstrip our stattic defence to beat Joe Playle for Yarmouth's second consolation goal.  Still FCC piled forward in search of further goals and could have had at least another 4 before the referee blew his final whistle with 4 mins of stoppage time added.

To sum this game up - FCC played very very well at times.  Yes Gt Yarmouth are a young, struggling side but they did play well at times.  This was a very good alround display from everyone.

So  now we have won 8 games on the trot and also scored a record 8 goals too.  Still with games in hand all around us we are in a good position in the Ridgeons Premier League.

Well done to Beaver and boys - your doing The Seasiders proud.
