Today we were playing Bergholt Heath. For the first 15 minutes the sides were evenly matched. A ball played up field by Bergholt split the Clacton defence in half and a lob shot cleared Connor to put Bergholt in front. Clacton kept the pressure up and created 2 to 3 good chances to level the score but none were taken. Bergholt had a freekick just inside Clactons half. From the freekick the player hit the crossbar but luckily the ball bounced down into Connors hands. There was not much between the two teams at the end of the first half.

     Clacton made changes at half time. Bergholt started the stronger team and had one great chance from a corner. But after 3 or 4 attempts Clacton cleared their lines. From another corner, again Clacton failed to clear their lines and Bergholt put the ball into the net to go two up. Clacton were not down hearted and really came back at Bergholt and put them on their back foot. After some more near misses, Aaron got onto a ball and fired a great shot which beat the goalie. You could sense Clacton might get something out of this game and 10 minutes later Clacton were level from a corner. The ball was played into the area, some good blocks and strong play saw the ball bounce towards the far post where Aaron forced the ball home. With time running out and Clacton looking the stronger. A ball played up field by Bergholt saw clacton not close down or clear their lines, and a lob from outside the box, saw the ball clear Connors head and finish in the back of the net. This was hard to take as Clacton had fought back so well from 2 down. The game finished 3 2 to Bergholt. The Whole team played really well and should take great heart from their performance.
