After last weeks great result everyone was looking forward to this weeks game. Today we were playing Wivenhoe Youth. We welcomed back Ian Dance after a long lay off. The two teams were evenly balanced for the first 30 minutes or so, with both defences on top of the attackers. Kyle Lewis-Garrod picked up a nasty injury to his foot, and had to come off. A Wivenhoe corner saw Connor Saville miss the cross. Clacton had chances to clear the ball but Wivenhoe won the ball back,they had a couple of passes then a shot that finished in the back of the net. 

        In the second half Wivenhoe kept Clacton under pressure. Connor Saville made a great save with his feet to keep the score to 1 - 0. On one of Clactons breaks forward the ball fell to Jack Hazell. He hit a high hard shot which looked to be clearing the goalie. He managed to get his fingers to the ball, but the ball still looked to be goal bound. He fell backwards and scooped the ball back. All Clactons players appealed for a goal as the ball looked to have crossed the goal line. But the man in black said no goal. Clacton felt hard done by. So for the last 10 minutes they really got stuck in and put pressure on Wivenhoe. As much as the team tried they could not find a goal. If we start our next game as we finished this one i am sure we will get a positive result.

        This week the spectators were treated to a very light jam sponge. Made by Trish. This was marked as a 4.5 out of 5 by John Leonard. There is talk of the men supplying festive cakes for the Christmas game. Any requests can be forwarded to the Clacton branch of loose women.
